Sunny Deol, who is currently promoting his upcoming film, ‘Gadar 2‘ with his co-star Ameesha Patel, recently talked about the hurdles he faced during the release of ‘Gadar’ in 2001.
On Kapil Sharma’s comedy chat show, Sunny revealed that everyone in the industry was against ‘Gadar’ when it was released. He added that people said it was a Punjabi film and that it wouldn’t do well.However, on the contrary, the audiences proved them wrong. They loved the film and made it a huge success.

Elaborating further, Sunny added that When ‘Gadar’ had released, they had no idea the film would do so well. According to him, it is the audience who gave them the confidence to make a part 2.
Gadar was set up in partition-hit India and depicted the love story of a Muslim girl named Sakeena with an Indian Sikh boy Tara Singh.
Directed by Anil Sharma, ‘Gadar 2′ will take the story of Tara Singh and Sakeena forward. It also stars Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role. The film will hit the theatres on August 11 and it will be locking horns with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer ‘OMG 2’ at the box office.
