While Raveena Tandon called the director a ‘genius’, Janhvi called the film a piece of his soul. Kajol also shared a poster of the film and wrote, ‘#mustwatch @karanjohar u are back’.
Sidharth Malhotra also called ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ the ‘film of the year’.

earlier, Ranveer shared Ranbir’s words of appreciation for him. The actor said at an event, “The other day Ranbir saw our film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with us, it was so lovely to hear from somebody whose craft I admire so much. He was like ‘It’s not that you’ve played Delhi guy before but there was absolutely no similarity’. Ranbir was really appreciative.”
This is the first time Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh have come together for a film. Ranveer and Alia, on the other hand, have worked together before in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’. Apart from Ranveer and Alia, the film also features actors like Dharmendra Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in key roles.
