The Rajinikanth starrer has been the talk of the town and it looks like all the buzz has paid off.
The film’s advance bookings have reportedly crossed 6.12 lakh in ticket sales on a booking app. Meanwhile, advance bookings for the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer sold around 83,300 tickets.When it comes to Rajinikanth, the craze in South India can never be matched. According to reports, many offices in South India have declared holiday on August 10. Offices in other cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Thanjavur, Vishakapatnam, Mysuru, Ellore, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi have also declared a day off for their workers while some even handed out free tickets to employees to watch the film on its opening weekend.
Many companies have taken to their social media handles to share that they have mass booked the movie in advance while others reports indicated that big multiplexes in Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Bengaluru have already becoming full.
Meanwhile, the Hindi film ‘Gadar 2’ is expected to make a whopping Rs 30 crore to Rs 35 crore on its opening day and around Rs 120 crore to Rs 130 crore in its fiirst weekend.
On the other hand, ‘OMG 2’ has sold around 26,000 tickets for its opening day and could see a collection of under Rs 1 crore.
As Sunny gets ready for his big box office clash, his brother Bobby wished him by penning a heartfelt note that read, “Love you Bhaiya. All the best for #Gadar2. In cinema near you on August 11, 2023 … Book your tickets now.”
Reacting to the post, Sunny commented, “Bob love you. Tooooooo much.”
‘Gadar 2’ is all set to release in theatres on August 11.
Helmed by Anil Sharma, the film also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles.
