‘OMG 2’ box office collection first weekend: Akshay Kumar starrer scores Rs 43 crore! | Hindi Movie News

The way Sunny Deol has unleashed his magic at the box office with ‘Gadar 2’, it is very difficult to withstand the pressure but Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2‘ has managed to earn a decent score in this competition. The film, which was released only in 1500 screens as compared to Gadar 2’s 3500, is slowly but surely gaining popularity among the crowds. ‘OMG 2’ recorded a jump of 15 per cent in collection on Sunday and added Rs 17.55 crore to its total.
On Friday the movie opened at Rs 10.26 crore and with strong word of mouth publicity, ‘OMG 2’ collection jumped by nearly 50 per cent on Saturday, as it earned Rs 15.30 crore. Overall, ‘OMG 2’ has earned Rs 43 crore in its first weekend at the box office. The film had to face a lot of struggle before it made it to the theaters, the censor board gave it an A certificate and made about 25 audio and video modifications.
Over the weekend Akshay visited a theater to get first hand audience reaction from the audience. In a video which is now doing the rounds on the internet Akshay can be heard saying, “Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai joh teenagers ke liye bani hai. Actually yeh sab school main dikhana chahiye (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers. This should be shown in schools),” The audience has been asking for the removal of A certificate for the film.
