Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s film ‘OMG 2’ is standing strong despite the tough competition from Sunny Deol and Ameesh Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’. On Independence Day, the film recorded a huge jump in collection.

‘OMG 2’ witnessed a lot of footfalls on Tuesday and according to Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 18.50 crore. With this jump, the total collection of ‘OMG 2’ stands at Rs 73.67 crore in five days.

The film opened with Rs 10.26 crore and continued to grow over the weekend. Despite a drop in numbers on Monday, ‘OMG 2’ managed to recover on Independence Day.
Directed by Amit Rai, ‘OMG 2’ is a spiritual sequel to ‘OMG – Oh My God!’, which was released in 2012. The film faced a lot of issues with the CBFC and was awarded an A certificate after numerous modifications. ‘OMG 2’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.Speaking about the big clash with ‘OMG 2’, Sunny Deol had told BT, “I don’t understand why people compare – whether it’s from the business or likeability point. There is no comparison, but people like to do it. What I am trying to say is that jo film zyada acchi hoti hai phir bhi aap usko doosre films ke barabari mein le aatey ho. Jis cheez ki barabari nahin hai, mat karo.”
