Nick Jonas recalls the Varmala ceremony from his wedding with Priyanka Chopra, says it was a fun-filled game | Hindi Movie News

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in a grand wedding at Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur in December 2018 and since then they have been giving us some serious couple goals often sharing lovey-dovey pictures and videos.

Nick recently reminisced about the Varmala ceremonyfrom their wedding, a traditional Indian ritual where the bride and groom, hoisted by their families, try to place a garland on each other first.

Describing it as a challenging yet fun game, Nick mentioned the underlying competitiveness between him and Priyanka. The game symbolizes dominance; the family of whoever succeeds first gets to feel a sense of pride. Nick expressed how this light-hearted game fostered family bonding.
Nick’s family arrived in Jodhpur in 2018 to participate in traditional pre-wedding ceremonies like haldi, mehendi, and sangeet. The couple honored both their cultures by having Christian and Hindu ceremonies. For the Christian wedding, Priyanka donned a long-veiled white gown and Nick sported a black suit. The Hindu ceremony saw Priyanka in a red lehenga with a sheer veil and Nick in a cream sherwani and matching turban.

Recalling the Hindu wedding, Priyanka earlier shared in an interview how the ceremony, set for 10 p.m. based on astrological charts, was challenging for the jet-lagged guests from America. She humorously mentioned Nick’s exasperated looks at his drowsy family members.
Post-wedding, Priyanka relocated to Los Angeles. Today, both thrive in their film and music careers and are proud parents to their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who was born via surrogacy.
