Has CBFC ruled A-certificate and 20 cuts for Akshay starrer ‘OMG 2’? – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News

The revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification has watched Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’, the screening was also attended by the chairperson Prasoon Joshi. ETimes has exclusively learnt that the committee has suggested an adult certificate with about 20 cuts but the show-cause notice is yet to be sent to the producers for the same.
‘OMG 2’ is slated for an August 11 release but the song that was released after the executive committee of the CBFC watched the film, had the release date missing from it. With only 16 days left for release, the final call on the theatrical date of the movie is likely to be taken by Akshay Kumar. The actor is apparently away from the country. Following this controversy, the promotional campaign of ‘OMG 2’ is likely to be affected.
The Censor Board was not available for comment when ETimes made several attempts to get a confirmation on the suggested A certification and several cuts. ETimes also reached out to the makers but we got no response till the time of publishing this story.
Directed by Amit Rai, ‘OMG 2’ stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam Dhar. This film is said to be a spiritual sequel to 2012 release ‘OMG – Oh My God!’.
