‘Ghoomer’ trailer: Abhishek Bachchan plays an ex-cricketer turned coach to Saiyami Kher in this inspiring tale | Hindi Movie News

After his critically acclaimed performance in ‘Dasvi’ and ‘Breathe Into The Shadows’ season 2, Abhishek Bachchan is back with ‘Ghoomer‘. This is also his first theatrical release post the pandemic and the makers have just unveiled the film’s trailer. ‘Ghoomer’ directed by R Balki, sees Abhishek as a cricket coach who trains a specially-abled Saiyami Kher.

The first look poster of Saiyami was quite intriguing as one saw that she’s a specially-abled cricketer with her left hand holding the ball.

The trailer begins with the introduction of Saiyami’s character who is a player in the Women’s Indian Cricket team. Abhishek Bachchan is an ex cricket player for India who is displayed as a loser and taken to alcohol. Saiyami loses her right hand in an accident and the film revolves around her quest to ace cricket only with her left hand with Abhishek turning into her coach who inspires her. One sees a glimpseAmitabh Bachchan in the film who has a cameo. ‘Ghoomer’ definitely seems intriguing and will leave you inspired. Despite the fact that it looks like a serious story, the trailer has its share of light moments. Shabana Azmi is seen playing Saiyami’s mother while Angad Bedi is her love interest. The trailer is definitely packed with some interesting moments, making us look forward to the film.

This is the first time that one sees Saiyami in such a different avatar. Her last release was ‘8am Metro’ with Gulshan Deviah.
R Balki is known for always bringing in something new on screen – be it ‘Cheeni Kum’, ‘Paa’ or his last release ‘Chup’ which features Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt. He had also directed the Neena Gupta-Mrunal thakur film in the anthology ‘Lust Stories 2’.
‘Ghoomer’ is set to release on August 18.
