Farida revealed that she was supposed to be a part of ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’. However, she came to know that she has been offered to play the role of Jaya Bachchan’s mother-in-law for the film. So she decided to opt-out.
According to her, they both had then starred together in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ where they played the same age. The audience wouldn’t have accepted her, she said in an interview with Rajshri Unplugged. The role eventually went to Sushma Seth.In the same interview, Farida showered praise on Shah Rukh Khan with whom she has worked in films like, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Duplicate’ and others. According to her, the superstar is a funstar and a joker who will make everyone laugh all the time. However, she also added that SRK is a perfect gentleman who knows how to respect and treat women.
Farida became a household name for playing strong female characters and numerous motherly roles. She has several films like, ‘Aradhana’, ‘Paras’, ‘Majboor’, ‘Jurmana’, ‘Henna’ and others to her credit.
