‘Bombai Meri Jaan’: Web series based on Dawood Ibrahim’s controversial life to release on OTT in September | Hindi Movie News

Nearly two years ago, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani launched ‘Bombai Meri Jaan‘, a show based on the life of dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The narrative was to be adapted from the book Dongri to Dubai – Six Decades of Mumbai Mafia by S Hussain Zaidi. Avinash Tiwary, known for his films like Laila Majnu and Bulbbul, was cast as the underworld Don Dawood, with Kay Kay Menon playing the role of Dawood’s father, Crime branch constable Ibrahim Kaskar.

And now as per a report by Pinkvilla, it is being suggested the show is finally going to see the light of the day. ‘Bombai Meri Jaan’ will release in September
This series is directed by Shujaat Saudagar, who earlier directed Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Rock On 2′, which tanked badly at the box office. Rensil D’silva, who is known for projects like ’24’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’, is the showrunner for ‘Bombai Meri Jaan’.

Kritika Kamra, Aditya Rawal, Amyra Dastur, Saurabh Sachdeva, Vivan Bhatena, and Nivedita Bhattacharya will be seen essaying pivotal parts in ‘Bombai Meri Jaan’.
