Ayushmann Khurrana took inspiration from Kamal Haasan, Govinda and Aamir Khan for ‘Dream Girl 2’ | Hindi Movie News

Ayushmann Khurrana is known for always bringing something unique to the table. Ever since his debut film ‘Vicky Donor’, his choices have been quite unique. For instance, one also hasn’t seen any male actor be a female character on-screen in recent times. Of course, it has happened quite a lot earlier with movies like ‘Chachi 420’ and ‘Aunty No. 1’.

The first look of Ayushmann in ‘Dream Girl 2’ has been launched recently, and Ayushmann says he’s taken a lot of inspiration from actors like Govinda, Kamal Haasan and Aamir Khan. He says, “True disruptors of cinema are my cinematic inspirations and what Kamal Haasan sir did in Chachi 420, Aamir Khan sir did in Baazi and Govinda sir did in Aunty No 1 are truly defining moments for an actor. I was mesmerised and blown away, looking at how brilliant they are to pull off playing a woman on screen. It was mind-boggling, to say the least. So, for Dream Girl and now Dream Girl 2, I would say that they have inspired me to even attempt to pull off a character who dresses up as a woman when stuck in a situation that leads to comedy of errors. My character of Pooja in Dream Girl 2 is an ode to these brilliant actors and the magic and entertainment they have provided to people in theatres.”
He further adds, “I hope people love my performance in Dream Girl 2. I have worked very hard to bring Pooja to audiences. I love to watch people smile when they come to watch a film, and I hope Dream Girl 2 delivers this to the maximum.”

The actor has recreated elements from these earlier actors and tried to ace his performance as Pooja. While ‘Dream Girl’ had Nushrratt Bharuccha with Khurrana, the second part stars Ananya Panday. What’s more is that, the film also has an impressive ensemble in the form of Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Vijay Raaz among others. It’s set to release on August 25.
