However, in a recent interview Ayushmann has said that initially, he wasn’t sure if Ananya would fit into the milieu of ‘Dream Girl 2’. In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann said that he wondered that since Ananya is an urban girl, how would she get accustomed to the milieu of Mathura, which is a 2-tier city in India. But Ananya adapted really well, said Ayushmann. He added that the accent changes in our country, every 10km and hence it was important for her to get it right and she was bang on with the accent!
The actor further added that if one is a Bombay girl, it’s tough to catch those accents. He still speaks in Hindi, so it was a little easy for him. But he appreciated Ananya for getting it right. ‘She’s done a great job in the film,’ said Ayushmann.
‘Dream Girl 2’ is a completely new story and has nothing from the first part, except the fact that Ayushmann gets into his character Pooja again. Earlier in an interview with ETimes, when Nushrratt Bharuccha was asked why she was replaced in the sequel, she said she felt so disheartened and didn’t have the heart to ask the makers of ‘Dream Girl 2’, that why didn’t they cast her.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, ‘Dream Girl 2’ also stars Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Anu Kapoor, among others.
