You have been a part of some very interesting projects over the years, which is that one film or series that you believe changed your career?
The film Pink, I think it put me on the map.
We won a National Award for the film. I started getting a lot more work. People started taking notice of my work and also noticed me. I think from there my journey began and then ‘Inside Edge’ happened, which again opened me up. It paced up my career. Later, ‘Soorma’ happened. To be very honest, in between ‘Pink’ and ‘Inside Edge’ ki kha raha hoon. I hope that like ‘Made For Each Other’, ‘Ghoomer’ also works out for me so that new genres open up for me.
We all know Angad as an actor, how is he as a father and as a husband at home?
As a father, I am a friend to my kids. I am on a first name basis with them. They call me Angad only. I feel ki mere do chote dost hain. I feel I am just a little older than them because I feel I am mentally of their age only. We bond a lot.
I think I’ll act in many departments because I feel Neha is understanding of that and she’s very accepting of all my flaws. I hope that I can be a better husband. But I’m definitely a very good father.
Do you have any friends from the industry that you hung out with?
I have many friends. There is Vicky Kaushal. I treat Vicky as my brother and he’s a very good friend. Because we share the same interest in music, in food, and we speak Punjabi. There’s also Diljit Dosanjh. Karan Johar is very close to Neha, so I have a strong connection there also. We are all like family to each other. With them, I feel like even if they didn’t belong to this industry, we would still be friends.
What does the second half of 2023 have in store for Angad?
From September onwards, I have quite a few line-up. However, I am not at liberty to talk about them now. The announcement on those will happen when the producers find it right.
