Ananya Panday spills details about her debut web series Call Me Bae; featuring in Aryan Khan’s ‘Stardom’ – Exclusive

Bollywood star Ananya Panday will make her OTT debut with the upcoming series ‘Call Me Bae‘. The announcement about the show came early this month when Varun Dhawan stepped in to introduce the actress in a video that saw her channelling her inner fashionista. Much about the series was kept under wraps until now when Ananya got chatty with ETimes during the promotion of her film ‘Dream Girl 2’.
“I don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” she said a bit hesitantly. But her excitement about the project soon took over and she spilled the beans saying, “I’m doing comedy in that. Usually, in the comedy films I’ve done, the comedy is always happening around me, and I’m only reacting to it. But in this one, I’m kind of heading the comedy, or doing most of the comedy. That’s what I’m most excited about.”

When asked about the possibility of some starry appearances on the show, Ananya teased, “There are actually quite a few fun cameos. Not star ones, but really exciting ones.”
The upcoming original series that will be streaming on Prime Video, will see Panday essaying the role of Bae, a billionaire fashionista, who is disowned by her ultra-rich family owing to a salacious scandal. The series will follow her on her journey of self-discovery as she fends for herself and battles stereotypes and prejudice.

Helmed by Collin D’Cunha and backed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, the series also stars

Vir Das in a leading role.
With all the buzz around star kids taking over the web series space, we also quizzed the actress about possibly featuring in the upcoming series ‘Stardom‘ created by her BFF Suhana Khan’s brother, Aryan Khan. Amidst the buzz around Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and Ranbir Kapoor shooting cameos for the series, we had to ask Ananya if we could expect to see her in the starry lineup. “Can’t talk about anything, honestly,” she said.

Well, that’s not technically a ‘no’. Guess we’ll just wait a tad longer to know for sure.
