Amid CBFC row, Akshay Kumar confirms OMG 2 to release on August 11; new song Oonchi Oonchi Waadi to drop tomorrow | Hindi Movie News

Amidst rumours that his upcoming film ‘OMG 2‘ was being stalled after the Censor Board of Film Certification (CFBC) refused to certify the film for release, Akshay Kumar has put all rumours to rest with his latest post.
The actor took to his social media handle on Monday to announce the launch of the first song from his upcoming social drama. “#OonchiOonchiWaadi Song out tomorrow! # OMG2 in theatres on August 11,” he wrote and posted the album art featuring Pankaj Tripathi.

The teaser of ‘OMG 2’ created quite a stir online after a scene featured the Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva with water from a railway pipe.Last week, reports stated that the sequel had been put on hold by theCentral Board of Certification (CBFC) and sent to the Revision Committee for a detailed review.
The CBFC is reportedly being cautious after the uproar created post the release of the Prabhas starrer Adipurush that forced the makers to alter dialogues after the film’s release.

It also claimed that the panel has been put together to ensure that ‘no harmful references or visuals’ make it past the chopping block.
Besides the objectionable scene, reports also claim that the film will centre around the topic of homosexuality. An alleged leaked plot doing the rounds on social media, claims that the film will follow a principal who decided to start sex education in schools after a gay boy takes his life for being bullied.

However, at the same time, reports also suggest that there is no angle of homosexuality in the film. Akshay will be seen playing the role of Lord Shiva opposite Pankaj who doubles up as a devotee in the film. The film also stars Yami Gautam and Arun Govil.
