Abhishek Bachchan and the makers of ‘Ghoomer’ postpone the film’s trailer launch event as a mark of respect for the late Nitin Desai | Hindi Movie News



Art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai who is known for his ace work in movies like ‘Jodha Akbar’, ‘Devdas‘, ‘Lagaan‘ amongst many others movies, passed away on Wednesday. Desai was one of the best art directors in Hindi cinema and hence, the industry is in a state of shock over his demise. While several celebs have paid heartfelt condolence to him, some have also pushed their film’s trailer launch due to the same.

The trailer of ‘OMG 2’ was meant to be unveiled today.

However, Akshay Kumar tweeted that they won’t be releasing the trailer today as a mark of respect to Desai. He had tweeted, “Unbelievably sad to know about the demise ofNitin Desai. He was a stalwart in production design and such a big part of our cinema fraternity. He worked on so many of my films… this is a huge loss. Out of respect, we are not releasing the OMG 2 trailer today. Will launch it tomorrow at 11am. Om Shanti πŸ™”
And now Abhishek Bachchan has announced that the team of ‘Ghoomer‘ have postponed the trailer launch event of the film which was supposed to take place on August 3, in Mumbai. The launch event will now happen on August 4. Abhishek announced, “As a mark of respect to our beloved #NitinDesai, we the team of #Ghoomer have decided to postpone our trailer release function which was to be held tomorrow in Mumbai. We will release it day after on the 4th of August. πŸ™πŸ½”

The actor also spoke fondly about Desai and expressed sadness at his demise. Abhishek tweeted, “Very sad to hear about the passing of Nitin Desai. We worked on so many films together. Was such a fine artist and a gentleman. May god grant him and his family peace. πŸ™πŸ½”
Desai had committed suicide and though the exact reasons which led him to commit suicide are not known, the police has found a letter and a video recording. His final rites will take place on Friday.
